The Cachapoal Andes Valley – cradle for San Pedro’s icon wines – has welcomed a new purchase from the renowned Chilean winery. With a 1500 L capacity, the long-awaited rotating tank has arrived at the luxury San Pedro winery, as the first and only one in Chile.

In pursuit of producing the finest wines in the valley, efforts have been placed on exploring new sustainable technologies and methods for vinification and aging. Together with the extraordinary winemaking work from a team spearheaded by Gabriel Mustakis, the result is exceptional and unforgettable wines.

One of the new tank’s characteristics is its makeup of lightweight 100% mineral concrete, free of additives and with excellent insulation, as well as its minimization of surface contact. It also stands out for its thermal inertia, maintaining homogeneous temperatures with low-energy use.

“Because of its shape, composition and operation, we see great opportunities for working our wines gently and sustainably. We believe it will bring us incredible fruit expression, elegant textures and harmony in the wine”, says Gabriel Mustakis, chief winemaker for San Pedro icon wines.

This vessel of French origin is produced by the innovative tank brand, Galileo, and is renowned for its low level of energy consumption. It will be used for vinifying small components of Altair: the brightest star of the Cachapoal Andes.
