Vinos del Grupo VSPT con notable presencia en Descorchados 2012

December, 2011.- VSPT wines had an outstanding performance in the 14th edition of one of the most important wine guides in Chile, the 2012 Descorchados, from renowned national winewriter, Patricio Tapia, that was just launched this month. In total, 31 of the group’s scores were equal or higher than 90points, with a maximum of 94points, for Altaïr. In summary, the results were the following:

San Pedro counted 8 scores equal or higher than 90, among which the 2008 Kankana del Elqui stood out, obtaining 92points and being part of the Best Syrah and the Chosen from the North rankings. The 2009 vintage of 1865 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon also obtained 92points; while the 2009 vintage of 1865 Single Vineyard Syrah, the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc from Leyda -the white wine in this line-, and the 2009 vintage of 1865 Limited Edition Syrah were rated with 91points each. 2008 Tierras Moradas, the 2008 vintage of 1865 Limited Edition Blend and 2011 Castillo de Molina Sauvignon Blanc from Elqui were awarded with 90points.

Viña Tarapacá, in turn, stood out with four scores equal or higher than 90. Its Icon, 2008 Tara-Pakay, which obtained 91points, and the Gran Reserva wines in their versions 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and 2009 Etiqueta Negra, which reached 90points each.

Santa Helena had important scores, with 2009 Parras Viejas, which obtained 92points and forms part of the Best from Colchagua ranking; 2009 D.O.N., which obtained 91points; and 2011 Selección del Directorio Sauvignon Blanc, which also obtained 91points and is part of the White Super Prices.

Altaïr V&W wines also had a prominent presence in the 2012 Descorchados guide, since 2007 Altaïr obtained 94points and is present in the Best Red, Best Red Blend and Best from Cachapoal rankings. Also, 2007 Sideral obtained 93points and is part of the Best Red Blend and Best from Cachapoal listings.

Viña Mar also stood out prominently in this guide, since its 2011 Reserva Especial Sauvignon Blanc obtained 91points and was chosen as the Super Price Whites.

As for Casa Rivas, it obtained 90points with its 2011 Reserva Sauvignon Blanc from Casablanca and another 90points for its 2010 Gran Reserva Syrah from Maipo.

– Finally, last but not least, Viña Leyda had a sterling participation in the guide, with 11 scores equal or higher than 90 points -among which it is worth to mention the 2011 Leyda Loica Pinot Noir, with 91points, which was chosen as the Best Rosé -and marking a presence in 4 of the other “Best” rankings, in the Best Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Other White Varieties and Chosen from San Antonio.
