The prestigious Gran Reserva range from Viña Tarapacá stood out with two robust scores in the August edition of Wine Enthusiast.

Gran Reserva Tarapacá Etiqueta Azul Blend Maipo Valley 2013 received 91 points and was described by Michael Schachner with the following tasting note:

“Earthy, stalky aromas of tomato, olive and savory, meaty berry fruits set up a chewy, dense palate. Blackberry, cassis and mixed-spice flavors finish with chocolate and clove notes. This Cabernet-led blend is bold, oaky, rustic and powerful.”

Furthermore, Gran Reserva Etiqueta Negra Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo Valley 2013, received 90 points and the following tasting note:

“Stalky, gritty aromas of olive, eucalyptus and berry fruits are 100% Chilean. This feels big, wide and tannic. Flavors of roasted berry fruits are stalky and herbal, while this finishes with peppery, herbal overtones and gritty, chewy tannins”.
