James Suckling, one of the United States’ most recognized wine critics, recently posted on his website www.jamessuckling.com a report entitled “Chile’s Breathtaking Diversity” after a three week visit to numerous wineries from different regions of the country.

The report includes a review of hundreds of wines that Suckling tasted accompanied by journalist Jacobo Garcia Andrade, who added his views to the article.

The experts gave high ratings upon the musts of Grandes Vinos de San Pedro.  They awarded outstanding 93 points to two of the newest brands in the portfolio: Kankana de Elqui 2011 and Tierras Moradas 2011.

The tradition of its flagship wines also had an important place in the list of highlights: Cabo de Hornos 2011 y Altaïr 2011 reached 91 points each.

In the report, the experts express that in their search for identity; Chilean wines must harness the great potential that arises from the diversity of their regions of origin, and thus distinguish themselves in the global wine industry.  Both say that “diversity is the great secret weapon of Chile and its future looks very exciting”.
