Thursday September 28th, 2017

VSPT Wine Group entered the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the first time, under the Chile subcategory. This index measures the annual performance of over 2,000 companies listed on the most important stock exchanges around the world.

This international list, controlled annually by the Santiago Stock Exchange, S&P Dow Jones Indexes (S&P DJI), the lead global index provider, and RobecoSAM, an investment specialist focused exclusively on investment in sustainability, has extended invitations to the “best in class” in terms of economic, environmental and social development.

“To be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index is a great pride for everyone in our organization, which encourages us to continue working with confidence that development must go hand in hand with sustainable management and in harmony with our environment. We are tremendously happy with this milestone. This is a positive step for VSPT Wine Group, to its constant search for excellence and of course to the development of our country”, says Bárbara Wolff, Chief of Corporate Affairs of VSPT Wine Group.

This new milestone will enable VSPT Wine Group to showcase to the world more than ten years of concrete commitment to sustainability, along with its mission to develop initiatives and innovative projects that allow them to continue to grow sustainably. This not only generates pride in the organization but adds value to the business, in deep harmony with the land and its people.

Among the group’s most important achievements are the 360 sustainable initiatives implemented in 2015. These have been verified by Deloitte, highlighting important contributions in terms of Biodiversity Conservation, Development Programs for Grape Producers, Water Management, Responsible Wine Consumption Programs, and management to reduce the corporate carbon footprint and the impact on climate change, among others.
