The prestigious British magazine, The Drinks Business, drew attention to VSPT Wine Group in its latest edition in an article, entitled “Natural Selection”. The article lays out the important sustainable initiatives implemented by the group, which was awarded two important acknowledgements by the magazine last year: Ethical Company of the Year and Leaders in Renewable Energy Implementation.
Patrick Schmitt, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, describes in the article how Chile has become a benchmark in the wine industry for sustainable initiatives, and how there is a strong desire from wine producers to improve the country’s existing biodiversity.
Moreover, VSPT Wine Group has been tirelessly developing initiatives in order to decrease its operational impact –because this is the way it does things. Because of this, the British magazine highlighted, throughout January´s edition, VSPT’s various projects and acknowledgements, as well as how it continues to operate using a sustainability model which encompasses the whole organization.
Among projects which made the group deserving of these important acknowledgements were the plantation of the largest vineyard with the mapuche community as well as solar panel implementation in 12 estates, allowing for energy use reduction and harnessing of the sun’s rays.
Bárbara Wolff, Manager of Corporate Affairs and Innovation at VSPT Wine Group, laid out the different projects carried out by the group –which enabled it to become a benchmark in the wine industry– and positioned sustainability as a “strategic priority for VSPT”. These projects have allowed VSPT Wine Group to position itself as a company committed to sustainability –both at a national and international level– and the group will continue to find new initiatives which allow for a more environmentally-friendly production of wine
