Since 1999, the renowned wine critic Patricio Tapia and his team have been compiling Descorchados Guide, the most important specialized publication in Chile, aiming to put the spotlight on the best domestic wines.

For the 2017 edition, 1,700 wines were tasted and amongst those, San Pedro obtained the highest distinction in the Syrah category with Kankana del Elqui 2014. This wine was selected as the Guide’s “Best Syrah” with 96 points, as well as “Revelation Wine” acknowledgement for standing out from the others of this variety and choosing a different path. The wine also featured on the “Best Elqui Wines” and “Best Red Wines” rankings.

Furthermore, Cabo de Hornos 2014 received 94 points, featuring on the “Best Wines of Cachapoal Andes” ranking, as did Altaïr 2014 with 93 points, and Sideral with 91 points.

As it is every year, the guide will be launched during the Luxury Wines Fair, taking place in the gardens of the Grand Hyatt Santiago hotel on the 15th of December.

Descorchados Guide is currently translated into English and Portuguese with international distribution. Its creator, Patricio Tapia, also collaborates for important international media such as Wine & Spirits and Decanter.
