Leyda Canelo Single Vineyard Syrah 2014 receives 93 points in James Suckling’s report

The scores were recently released for James Suckling’s latest report about Chilean wines.

In his recent visit to Chile in April, the renowned US critic tasted over 600 domestic wines, and amongst those several wines from Viña Leyda stood out with excellent scores.

Leyda Canelo Single Vineyard Syrah 2014, from the Leyda Valley was awarded a remarkable 93 points, and praised for its freshness and minerality: “a wine with spice, dried herb and dark berry. Tea and plum. Full body, firm and fresh tannins. Crisp and lively. Lots of iron and red rock. Plenty of character and freshness.”

Meanwhile, Leyda Lot 21 Pinot Noir 2013 received 92 points, and was described by Suckling as “a fascinating wine” with “intense granite and dark fruit aromas”.

Leyda Reserva Pinot Noir 2015 from the Leyda Valley stood out with 92 points and was defined as “a very elegant and refined pinot noir”.

Leyda Lot 4 Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and Leyda Lot 5 Chardonnay 2014, both from the Leyda Valley, also did very well with 92 points.

Moreover, the Leyda Lot 8 Syrah 2013 was awarded 91 points as well as Leyda Single Vineyard Las Brisas Pinot Noir 2014.
