Altaïr 2013 receives an outstanding 94 points in James Suckling’s report

The scores were recently released for James Suckling’s latest report about Chilean wines.

In his last visit to Chile in April, the renowned US critic tasted over 600 domestic wines, and of those Grandes Vinos de San Pedro range stood out with excellent results.

Altaïr 2013 from the Cachapoal Andes Valley received a remarkable 94 points. This icon wine is crafted with 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Syrah, and is described in the following tasting note: “I love the aromas of fresh mint and spearmint with currant and dried fruits. Always fresh and bright. Full body, silky and polished tannins. Savory and beautiful. Very attractive contrast of delicate velvety tannins and a bright finish,” he reports.

Meanwhile, Cabo de Hornos 2013 and Kankana del Elqui 2013 received impressive 93 point scores.

Sideral 2014 from the Cachapoal Andes Valley, was awarded a superb 92 points, and was described in its tasting notes as a “deep, rich” wine characterized by its delicacy.
