The scores were recently released for James Suckling’s latest report about Chilean wines.

In his last visit to Chile in April, the renowned US critic tasted over 600 domestic wines, and of those he highlighted Viña San Pedro’s 1865 range.

The 1865 Limited Edition Syrah 2012 from the Elqui Valley received a remarkable 95 points –which is the highest score that the brand has received in its history. This Syrah from Elqui was described by Suckling as follows: “This is real Syrah with so much earth, spice, nut and black pepper aromas. So smoky. Full body, soft and silky tannins and a beautiful finish. Fantastic length and intensity. Decadent. Believe that price. Drink now.” he underlines in his tasting note.

Meanwhile, the 1865 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 from the Maipo Valley received 92 points, as did the first vintage of the new 1865 Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014 from the Elqui Valley.

Moreover, the 1865 Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2015, also from the Elqui Valley, received 91 points; and the 1865 Single Vineyard Carmenère 2014 from the Maule Valley scored 90 points.
